GenieATM 6400 Info Extractor

With built-in DPI engine and subscriber tracker, GenieATM Probe provides L7 visibility and measures end-to-end service quality for physical and virtual network

Overview

Rapid growth of broadband and mobile communication networks prompts significant changes to the scale, technology, and applications of networks. The traditional traffic analysis method, analysis through application port number, is challenged by modern applications such as P2P and multimedia streaming and is no longer considered adequate. In addition, operators face increasing demands for traffic visibility of user equipment, subscriber groups, user behavior, locations, applications, services, popular websites, and etc. for mobile traffic in GPRS or CDMA2000 core network. Furthermore, when IP traffic is encapsulated by tunnel protocol such as GRE, VLAN, or GTP, operators need to identify the real application inside.

The mobile intelligence of GenieATM 6400 Info Extractor series can capture and analyze both control and data plane packets promptly in GPRS and CDMA2000 IP-based networks, recognize up to L7 application, and export traffic statistic data to flow collector of GenieATM system. It can not only decapsulate GRE or GTP tunneled packets but also retrieve subscriber identities and attributes inside Radius or GTP packets. Moreover, GenieATM 6400 Info Extractor series can measure network quality such as TCP round trip time, and subscriber activities such as numbers of on-line users and service requests. It can also act as a troubleshooting and forensics tool by mirroring packets of specified subscribers to GenieATM Collector.

Key Features

GenieATM 6400 Info Extractor Series Key Features include:

Application Recognition

The DPI engine enables traffic classification overL2/3/4/7 protocols, and recognizes P2P applications, VoIP protocols, or video streaming rapidly and precisely.

Virtual Network Visibility

Supports traffic inspection for both physical and virtual network technologies such as VLAN, GTP or GRE Tunnel.

Website Service Monitoring

Provide statistics for URL-specific traffic, performance, and service requests to comprehend Website activities through backbone network.

Subscriber Identity Visibility

Resolves subscriber attributes and session information from Radius or GTP, and correlates IP traffic and mobile IP session for further subscriber-based traffic analysis.

Subscriber Equipment Analysis

Supports subscriber equipment information via IMEI and HTTP User Agent in order to further analyze handset model, manufacture or browser type.

Network Performance Measurement

Measures network performances such as TCP Round Trip Time, TCP retransmissions, and etc.

Flow Record Exporting

Exports traffic flow summary, Layer 7 application identifier, URL information, and end-to-end performance measurement in GFlow format.
