Genie Network Resource Management Inc.（GenieNRM Inc.）is proud to announce the release of its next generation GenieNPC 5800 Network Policy Controller with software release v3.1.5. Schedule to be available in March 2008, GenieNPC 5800 is the carrier-grade traffic service control system capable of performing traffic classification and traffic management at user-application level.
Combining with a newly designed hardware platform and the new HDA (Hardware-based DPI Accelerator) and AFT (Advanced Flow Tracking) technologies, this release v3.1.5 will allow GenieNPC to more accurately and promptly discover the types of applications with the network packets, whether they are traditional layer-4 port-based application or services, or layer-7 level user applications, such as P2P, multimedia, streaming, or VoIP applications.
In addition with the new hardware design, GenieNPC has improved in the overall system-wide capacity – up to 4 million bi-directional session entries, up to 512k subscribers to manage, 64k run-time policies, and more refined traffic controlling and management actions, such as subscriber quota-limits, traffic redirecting, traffic mirroring, and ToS mangling. With its 4-tiered cascading bandwidth control policies, GenieNPC offers granular and flexible bandwidth control capabilities at different levels. All is to satisfy network operations and managers’ requirements in terms of managing and shaping their current networks.
