Taipei (April 25, 2006) - GenieNRM, a professor for network traffic analysis and control, and Timerwell, the agent for Foundry Network, demonstrate a Network Security solution in Foundry Networks Solutions Forum. In this demonstration, GenieNRM’s facilities, GenieATM 6000 display the network traffic and anomaly-detected reports and GenieNPC 5000 shows how to identify the network application and limit the use of the bandwidth for the specified application.

As part of the demonstration, GenieATM 6000, configured to receive the sFlow packets generated from the Foundry network devices and to display the calculated and real-time reports. In advance, the anomaly traffic report and the user-defined traffic report also can display by the system.

Besides, GenieNPC 5000 series systems, GenieNPC 5820 and GenieNPC 5100, are a complemented system to perform bandwidth control. GenieNPC 5820 is designed to collect IP network traffic and perform the rate-limit algorithm to the specified application and address group. GenieNPC 5100 is the application processor complementing to GenieNPC 5820 for identifying the correct types of applications from the suspected flows. After configuring the traffic policies to GenieNPC 5800, the bandwidth limitation will process to the specified application, including P2P and SKYPE. Besides GenieNPC 5100 can still send NetFlow packets to GenieATM 5333(the special spec for GenieATM 6000) to generate the bandwidth use reports of applications.

Deploying in Foundry high performance network, this demonstration is not only providing the network security via traffic analysis report and bandwidth control for applications but also establishing the high scalibility and reliability network architecture.
