Genie Network Resource Management Inc. (also known as GenieNRM), a leading network management solution vendor, today announced GenieATP (Genie Advanced Traffic Probe) product series, specifically designed to enable network monitoring and traffic analysis capability for service providers and enterprise. The product series will help service providers and enterprise understand the traffic detail of network by visualizing into every network segments including Core, Distribution and Access layers and presenting rich, real-time flow information to efficiently and cost-effectively optimize network stability and performance.

GenieATP is a dedicated, hardware-based network traffic probe that delivers real-time and network-wide visibility to service providers and enterprise. Based on the Genie’s powerful Network Processor, GenieATP is the only device that can simultaneously capture network traffic from multiple Gigabit Ethernet links and export traffic flow information in real-time while maintaining data accuracy. The traffic flow information generated by GenieATP includes source, destination, ports, protocols, ASN and variety of other details and will be packed into NetFlow v5 packets to export to NetFlow collectors. This information enables operators to obtain a greater view into the network. Additionally, the network-wide visibility empowers operators to have the ability to monitor and analyze the network for network optimization. The available applications that could be deployed to monitor and analyze network include, billing and accounting, network planning, security monitoring, peering agreement and application monitoring.

GenieATP allows for exporting flow information to up to 4 flow collectors that enable purpose-oriented applications. Also, GenieATP can receive BGP table from its BGP peers and fill ASN information in related filed of NetFlow.

The new product series consists of GenieATP 1604 and GenieATP 1608. GenieATP 1604 is delivered with 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports and GenieATP 1608 is delivered with 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports. A single GenieATP can monitor up to 8 unidirectional or 4 bi-direction Gigabit Ethernet links. It is also capable of delivering powerful packet processing capability for exporting flow information. This capability minimizes the number of network probes required to monitor the network of service providers and enterprise. A proactive network-wide traffic analysis can be realized in a cost-effective way.

Based on the traffic flow information provides by GenieATP, service providers and enterprise are capable of deploying network monitoring and traffic analysis applications to manage and control their mission critical network.

GenieATP can be ordered immediately and will begin shipping in November 2004.
